Porsche 994 Race Car Information
Hello, welcome to this advert for what was going to be my trackday car
NEW MOT issued 26th June. Nothing ‘advised’ !. Also taxed.
(mot testers words were ‘f*ck me that is a serious piece of kit everything is like new’)
This is a 1989 944S2 that has been prepared ready for track / fast road use. Very very thoroughly. I should think she is the closest thing to a road going race car (for a 944) that you can get.
On the road this is a truly wonderful drivers car.
I bought her last winter with the intention of learning her, using her on road to prepare for my HPC entry (needed a manual) and would then spend the rest of 2013 using her for trackdays. Well, I have done everything except the trackdays part, and have now discovered I have much more of a passion for road based jaunts than I do have a desire for a track toy. And I already have a couple of cars for this purpose.
So, here she is.
Only last Feb I imported from Lindsey Racing a brand new spec clutch, and new rear diff mount, alongside the full service/tune-up kit and all has been fitted alongside new clutch slave, and new clutch master cylinders, Obviously with all fresh fluid.
The old clutch, and old master cylinder shall be supplied with her, both are still serviceable and the clutch is only half worn. I wasn’t in the mood to faff about though with unreliability, and couldn’t see a record of a clutch change in the very large history file, hence why the whole kit’n'kaboodle got changed.
Whilst this work was being carried out, uprated rear diff oil and brand new OE rear driveshaft seals were fitted.
It seemed rude to get this far and then not change the brake fluid so that was done as well!
Obviously she was serviced too, and, as written above, this meant leads, rotor, cap, plugs etc etc.
All tyres are Toyo Proxes T1R’s with lots and lots of tread and are @2 years old (date of manufacture).
Full stainless steel exhaust.
No rust issues whatsoever. VERY solid car all the way through.
Whats left in the car works, that is to say leccy windows and roof
As indicated in the title she was fitted with a 968 engine by Jaz @5-6 years ago. At this point in time the engine was on 42000 miles, and the 944 had covered 150,000 miles. She now shows 171000.
She is fitted with GAZ fully adjustable coilovers all round.
Running a Promax chip apparantly.
The suspension was set up by the chap that owned her before me, who races (with his son) in the 944 series.
It is quite an aggressive setup, running very much for grip in the corners! This is a very very quick car on the road. You need to be AWAKE to get the most out of her. It really is fantastic. A proper drivers car.
FIA approved seats and Harnesses. Fibreglass doorcards too. Plus half roll cage, also FIA approved.
MO30 brakes with uprated pads.
A very well sorted trackday / road toy. And with good brakes, new clutch, new fluids, good tyres, and a strong leak free 968 engine she is ready to go! Moreover, aside from no leaks, she doesn’t smoke either. All is well.
No dreamers please. This is a genuine sale by a genuine petrolhead.
My phone number is 07843 596 428. Any contact by mouth breathers or timewasters will be ignored. My time is precious, I have a lot of toys to pay for! I am fully aware that serious buyers will want to chat anyway. If you want to know just how much of a Petrolhead I am, here is my ‘PistonHeads’ profile
So, there you have it. One very very well sorted trackday toy, or, if you are a keen driver with a healthy spine as opposed to my trashed one, a very very enjoyable road car (2-3 hours on the road in this causes me problems as I have a fairly severe spinal issue)
Thanks for reading,
Part exchange – yes, possibly maybe all considered why try me 3-20k.
A UK 350z is what my girlfriend wants next…….now that I have talked her possibly into getting shot of her horrible (in my opinion) beetle. I on the other hand am fairly open minded especially for proper drivers cars that have not been modded. And nothing luxurious in the way of waftmobiles either – I already have a 760. I am partial to decent hot hatches as I currently don’t have one, but then I haven’t had a kit car for a little while either! Bear in mind please that lowered and / or rock solid suspension in conjunction with a race seat is a complete no-go for me unfortunately. And please bear in mind that I really know my way around cars. So no sheds, or crash repaired bodges please as you will have wasted your time.
Mouth breathers will be ignored. Articulate petrolheads are welcomed.
